So I was watching an episode of The Modest Adventures of David O’Doherty, specifically the one where he’s recording his album Giggle Me Timbers - which is a must for any comedy fan; I love mine to bits - and at the start he was playing on A ROLL-UP KEYBOARD!! I think I got slightly too over-excited when I saw that, possibly because me and DOD have something in common. I have to say though, they’re not terribly good and I know mine will only let you play two notes at once, but still.
Oh yes, I wanted to mention Edinburgh. I got an e-mail back from the people we’re booking accommodation with, with confirmation of our deposit so I am now going to be in Edinburgh from 9th - 23rd August in a basement apartment. We’re gonna pretend we’re in The IT Crowd. I hereby nominate Kirsty to be Richmond and/or Jen, Alick can be Roy and I’ll be Moss - I come with slightly larger glasses for when we have plans too. Apparently Mark looks likely to be doing another long show and if it doesn’t coincide with my holiday dates then me and Hannah plan to get the Megabus up especially for it. Yay. So yeah, if anyone wants a meet-up or something then drop me a line.
I know it’s probably too early for most people to contemplate something this far ahead but I like to be organised. So much so, in fact, that I’m gonna start a list of comedians I’d like to see this year on this here journal. All I know is so far it it includes Timmy D and these three jokers, portrayed below in icon form: David O’Doherty, Andrew Lawrence and Tim Key.
