After overspending slightly this past week I told myself I wouldn’t spend much in the coming week. Hah. That’s failed already and next week hasn’t even started. Currently I have just shy of £2.50 to spend each day this coming week. Yay.
Well, it’s probably not as bad as it sounds because most of this week’s money’s been spent on food, of which I currently have next to nothing of, so I won’t have to worry about that for a few weeks.
So what crap have I spent the rest of my money on then? I’ll be honest, I had some sort of mini online shopping spree. First up was the fourth in the Ace Attorney series of games for the DS, Apollo Justice, and this was followed by a ticket to see one Ed Byrne at City Varieties.
Right, so Apollo Justice I’m importing from Asia because Europe’s just rubbish for games, with them being released months after they are in America and costing twice as much. I mean, for example, I did the same thing with the last Ace Attorney game last October and it cost me roughly the same as this one has yet this game isn’t being released in Europe until next month, well according to Game but I can’t seem to find it anywhere else, and will no doubt cos twice what I’ve paid for it. But yes, I’ve enjoyed this point-and-click adventure game series and its storylines so I hope this one won’t disappoint me either.
Now Ed Byrne…
I previously mentioned how much I loved his voice but I think I neglected to mention how much I love his comedy. I have to say that Pedantic and Whimsical is one of my favourite stand-up DVDs and, in fact, if I can find it I’ll go watch it after Labyrinth’s finished playing. But yes, I’ve only seen him once before at York and I am slightly apprehensive about this gig too after booking to see him at City Varieties last Spring for him to cancel the gig, citing, if I remember correctly, TV commitments as the reason, though it turned out he was actually doing a west-end run around that time instead. I can only hope that this one remains on as I really enjoyed the show last time, thought I don’t think his support act will beat Matt Kirshen, who did it last time.
