I’m not gonna deny it but my quality of writing seems to have taken a turn for the worse recently so this has led me to contemplate what I should be writing about. Sure writing about what’s happened is all fair enough but I know that most days what’s happened is probably to boring to write about. To be honest I’m still surprised there are a fair few of you who still read this.
So what does this leave me to talk about? Opinions on stuff I guess, but I’m not one to form strong opinions on things, at least not strong enough for me to ramble on about the given subject at length. Actually, I’ve never been to write at length about anything so there goes the idea of telling stories too I guess.
I dunno, let’s give this new interesting blog thing a go though.
Ok, so I got my results for one last semester’s modules today. This was the one where I had to write two essays totalling 4000 words in length. The good news is I didn’t fail and the even better news is that I did better than I expected. I’m pretty crap when it comes to extended writing - as you can probably tell from these blogs - so the fact that my main essay got a couple of marks off a 2:1 has somewhat made my day.
Right, let’s also write about the snow I wasn’t expecting. It made the walk to uni almost surreal, especially going through Hyde Park, which looked like something out of the end of Edward Scissorhands. The snow wasn’t thick and heavy though, it was just right, like someone had sprinkled a layer of icing sugar over everything; it was just perfect. I was kinda upset that I didn’t think to bring my camera, but still, at least I’ll know for next time.
The BBC have just told me that Rhys Ifans is to star in Richard Curtis’s new comedy about radio pirates, The Boat That Rocked. I’m thinking that this could be fun to see as it’s something a bit different with regards to subject matter, that and Rhys Ifans is a little bit hot. After looking up said film on IMDB I had a bit of a look at the upcoming films Mr Ifans is going to be in I found about The Restraint Of Beasts, which has been adapted by Graham Linehan from a Magnus Mills book so now my curiosity is telling me to buy this book especially after the rave reviews it’s gotten. Oh, and I’d be quite interested to see the film too, if only cos the plot summary is: ” A dark comedy … about fence-builders in the English countryside who accidentally commit murder.” Genius.
