So I’ve been shopping today and each shop visited yielded their own short tale, which I will share in today’s blog, though chances are some will only be a sentence or two long and I only visited three shops.

Right, so first I visited Waterstone’s with the intention of going and buying a ticket to Dave Gorman’s book reading. See, that part went to plan and I’ll now be watching Dave read bits of his new book and then getting a signed copy so yay for that but I’m a sucker for bookshops and couldn’t help but look around. I found, unsurprisingly, that they didn’t have Kirsty’s book for sale but something else caught my eye; Charlie Brooker’s Screen Burn. Having heard good things about it and enjoying what I’ve caught of Screen Wipe I stupidly impulse bought it. The guy at the till commended my choice, which made me feel less bad about buying it as does its awesomeness now that I’ve started reading it.

Next stop was Boots, where, to be honest, not much happened. Well, apart from getting short-changed. If I give you £1.30 for something that costs £1.29 then I want my penny change! The thing is, it’s only a penny and it seemed petty to cause a fuss over it, but that will be one less penny that City Varieties will receive.

Wilkinson’s was my final port of call, where I planned on buying a flask to keep tea in to take to uni. It’s a good idea, I know that but I decided to boycott it for now upon seeing this sign:

I don’t care if it’s a low price, to get ’steel’ and ’steal’ confused is just unforgivable. I suspect something might be amiss at Wilkinson’s as the two Kinder Eggs I bought both had the same toy.
