God I’m so clumsy at times. I opened the front door on to myself to let in my sister’s friends, lost my balance and fell back on to the cabinet behind me. Whilst nothing in the cabinet was broken, I now have a lovely red bruise on the top of my left leg which is ridiculously tender to touch. I can just about manage the whole sitting down thing but seeing as I sleep on my left side I’m gonna be in so much pain when I go to bed later.
Anyway, I’m sure I’ve got more important things to moan about, such as the Mighty Boosh documentary I sat down to watch earlier. Whilst it was interesting overall, it’s not so much the content I had an issue with. It turned out to be more of a talking heads show than anything and whilst I can totally understand the use of comedians, and Jo Whiley too for that matter, to talk about the show, the thing that got me was all these ‘hip’ indie bands who were talking about it. Granted they are allowed to like comedy, I’m not denying that, it’s just they seemed entirely out of place. It seemed to me that they were just on there for the sake of trying to make the documentary look cool and appeal to the younger viewers. I mean it’s either that or they didn’t have enough material to use originally so they thought to just splice them in willy-nilly because they appeared once in an episode of the Boosh for a split second. This seemed to be the case with Rick Wakeman anyway…
I hate indie bands and their shit, pretentious haircuts. It’s like “we have no personality so we’ll mask it by having interesting haircuts”. I think that’s another rant for another day though…
