Today I have been mostly listening to electronic music. This is something of a departure from my normal listening habits, which tend to err very heavily on the side of guitar-based songs but if anything, it makes me pleased as a change is as good as a rest.

What prompted this change was the arrival of Fatboy Slim’s, Daft Punk’s and The Chemical Brother’s greatest hits albums in the post. I’m still allowing them to grow on me because apart from the big hit singles there’s very little on them that I’m familiar with, though I have to say that Robot Rock by Daft Punk leapt out at me straight away as being a totally awesome track - I totally love it.

This electronic music session also meant I heard the few songs by The Faint that I have on my computer and it inspired me to go buy one of their albums as I’ve been meaning to for so long (I first heard them five years ago…). You probably won’t have heard of them but think Daft Punk but a little bit more rock. They come with my full recommendation, not that that actually means anything considering my music taste.

Also, I posted about not doing work on my project a couple of nights ago, well, it’s now finished to an extent. [link]

It’s only in its most basic state at the moment and I could easily add a few more bells and whistles on to make it more awesome, which I probably will do over time, but for now it’s available for all to see. I need to sort out pages for when there are more icons than the page can hold and I need to get some sort of editing system worked out so I don’t have to do it all at the database but they can be done later, as can uploading the rest of the icons; both are very time-consuming activities.

Other minor incidents include being asked to pay the rest of the balance for the apartment in Edinburgh but it turned out that the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand’s doing. Also gained £70 after cancelling a hotel room, though it turns out I’m spending half of that on a train ticket to Derby.

I really doubt tomorrow’s going to be as exciting as this.
