So I’m seeing Jeremy Hardy on Tuesday. Why on Earth does it feel like I’m going to have to revise to enjoy this gig properly? Oh wait, that’ll be the political slant his set can sometimes have. I guess I need to get up to date on political current affairs then. Though I’ve seen him twice before with no preparation either time and he was still really enjoyable so we’ll see how lazy I feel. Maybe a quick shufti round the politics section on BBC news will suffice.
On Thursday I’m off to the House of Fun comedy club down my local to see Steve Hughes and Tom Wrigglesworth and hopefully I’ll get to try out my camera on said comedians. I’m still arguing with myself over which lens to take. Part of me is thinking about my prime lens as lets in most light but on the other hand there’s no zoom and I love getting in close to comedians so obviously I’m thinking about my zoom too. Oh decisions.
Friday I’m heading to Sheffield for the matinee show of Our House: The Madness Musical. I really hope it’s good because I adore the story, the songs, everything. Plus, I’ve tickets to go see it in Sunderland later too and am less likely to want to go see something crap. I have high hopes for it though, even if Steve ‘X Factor’ Brookstein’s in it - you never know, he might be a good singer actor…
Saturday is Boosh day complete with screaming fangirls dressing up like characters from the show. It’s like some bizarre, twisted version of the Rocky Horror Show. I’m not really sure how I feel about this to be honest; series three was a bit pants but still, there’s a difference between a live show and a telly show so I’ll be cautiously optimistic about it.
I would also like to point here out that I’m seeing Chris Cox’s adversary, Darren something or other in May. I feel like I should make notes at both his and Chris’s show and have a mentalist-off but the only problem is I’m already extremely biased towards one of them to begin with so the other will have to be extremely impressive to win me over.
