Who knows how long I’ll keep this up for but let’s give it a shot. I apparently updated this five weeks ago so what’s happened since then, let’s see.

First off my last blog post is a lie and I’m now no longer going to that gig mainly because my enthusiasm for it has dropped seeing as High Society aren’t doing it any more. Ah well, I’m booked for at least two Duke Special gigs in January so it’s not the end of the world.

I’ve also failed to mention the Brendon Burns gig I went to in October that I totally loved. I didn’t know quite what to expect really apart from something potentially offensive but either he wasn’t feeling terrible offensive that night or I’m not easy to offend cos I enjoyed every minute of it. Is it wrong that my impression of him after the show was that he seems like a nice guy? It probably is isn’t it?

I’ve also been to see Tim a handful more times - nothing exceptional to report back there - and I went down to London last weekend to go see Eddie Izzard do a poor performance of his new show. Weirdly enough I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt with this one as I feel he’s at his best when feeding off his audience and at the show I was at, the audience was less than responsive; quite often not laughing at jokes and in some cases missing jokes entirely. I don’t know if I have any sympathy for him though because at £60 you’re gonna put yourself out of the price range of the younger section of your audience (I think I may have been one of the youngest there) and they’re the ones that are going to bring a show to life if your dependent on your crowd.

What else has happened… Oh yes, went to the hospital in Harrogate to see the knee consultant person who said it’s nothing serious and then referred me for an MRI and a physio session. I nearly missed the MRI because of sodding snow, which is just stupid because the weather warnings were out with plenty of time saying that it was going to snow but it seemed that they don’t know what grit is in Harrogate and I got stuck at the station for 50 mins waiting for a taxi to show up. I had my physio session on the same day and again, he said it was nothing serious and just repeated what my GP had told me along side her recommendation of rest. It’s slowly getting better, I think.

I’ve fallen in love with another pianist as well. I mentioned him earlier, he’s called Duke Special and I’ve already promised Tim not to run off and run his website for him so I don’t think there’s any bitterness on their parts. If you’ve not heard of him then I urge you to check him out because of all the people I’ve introduced to his music, not one has hated it, so he must be doing something right.

That’s the past, as for the present, today I handed in an essay, returned some library books and then went shopping for various bits and pieces and ended up buying a new coat cos it was just calling to me. I wasn’t impressed at Boots though because I bought a hairbrush and paid twice for it cos the woman at the till scanned it twice without realising. Luckily I realised her mistake and I got a refund. Is it so hard to scan something, really?

Another thing I bought was some highlighting kits, one in red and one in a dark magenta type colour, which I’m gonna use for the upcoming trip to London, though I’m not quite sure how yet so any ideas will be appreciated.

So yes, trip to London. I’m off to see Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People at the Bloomsbury on the 19th; on the 20th shopping and maybe a show during the day with Rhod Gilbert in the evening; the 21st will be another possible show during the day, though I think the choice is limited to Edward Scissorhands cos there’s not much else on, followed by Tim in the evening, which I’m really looking forward to and finally on the 22nd there’ll be something during the day and more of Tim on the evening. This will require much meeting of friends and will generally be a lot of fun. Hooray!

Also, for those that care, I’m on Twitter [here], which I seem to be updating more frequently than this thing.

I think that covers most things…
